Back to Normal

Hello!

Ok, I'm back from being my (not very successful) satirical alter-ego and I'll be posting as myself from now on.

Apparently Chris isn't a big fan of a few things that would have made the satire interesting, things like;

reality
honesty
humour
logic

Whatever. If the guy wants to say that circular reasoning's fine then more power to him; he'll just never convince anyone that his message is worth listening to, that's all.

In other news, Ray Comfort is handing out a copy of Origin of Species to college kids. He has replaced Darwin's introduction with one of his own (the usual stuff; Darwin was a smelly racist, Piltdown Man! Piltdown Man!11eleventy!, Christ is a parachute, nothing made everything. Like I said; the usual stuff) and removed a few key chapters. Oh, and there's no mention on the cover that any of this has happened.

Apparently Christians are fine with this. Tony The Lawman sees no problem with it because 'paleontologists made up hoaxes years ago' and Wayne Dawg's ok with it because, well, I'm not sure why he thinks it's ok yet.

Oh, and as I've used wearesmrt.com to scrounge for sponsorship, I might as well do it here too;

I'm doing a 5km run for the Children's Aid Foundation on the 27th of September down at the Toronto Waterfront and any support is most welcome. Unless, of course, you hate children....

Cheers,

Cool, go for it man!

A very flattering alternative to supporting you at the end there? LOL

Hey, if you're not 100% dedicated to supporting children the way I am, then it must mean you're a kid-hater, right?

Wait...

...that's something else...

...wait....

...almost....

...I remember!

Hey, if you're not 100% dedicated to Christ the way I am, then it must mean you're a God-hater.

Tell me you've never heard that accusation before.

Cheers,

Matt, Matt, Matt,

You are comparing apples and oranges.
Kids do not require 100% dedication in your term of the words.
God does require our 100%. But that 100% percent can mean different things...eg. It does not necessarily mean "give all your money away to the church", but rather..."do not cling to your money but be ready to give where God leads...or simply give freely"

Da Bomb,

Not for the first time, I don't think you understood me.

My point was that, all-too-frequently in online discussions, theists will label atheists as being 'God-haters' or 'angry at God' or having 'hatred for God's Word' or some other variation on this theme, based on the premise that the atheist doesn't love God with all his heart (despite the atheist not believing there is a God to begin with).

You've never seen that?

I was satirizing that by implying that, unless you love and support kids 100% like I do (love God with all your heart), then you must hate kids (be a God-hating atheist). Make sense?

All that aside, I was having a bit of fun - this is not a particularly serious blog....

It's alright. It never use to be :) but I see your change toward satire and I'll remember for next time.
